NEWS 04/09/2008 : The Institute is proud to be a lead participant in the SFI Funded Strategic Cluster for Advanced Technologies (StratAG, pronounced strat-A-G) held a very successful launch on the 4th September 2008. The institute's participlating academics include Dr. Ronan Farrell and Dr. Sean McLoone and will be focussed on sensors, geosensor networks, data analysis and fusion. NEWS 20/03/2008 : The Institute has recently received grants from the HEA and SFI for a substantial upgrading of our test facilities, with the provision of new vector signal analysers, spectrum analysers and vector signal generators. These new units come with profiles for all the latest wireless standards, including IEEE 802.11n, 802.16e and 3G variants. This equipment is available to both NUIM researchers and external parties. NEWS 24/12/2007 : IMWS, CTVR and NUIM will host the US-Ireland International Workshop on Next Generation Open Architectures for Software-defined Radio to be held at Maynooth on the 12-13 May, 2008, followed by in-depth focus meetings on the 14th and 15th. This event is open to all interested parties, academics, industry experts and government agencies.
